✨ A reader becoming a writer, one post at a time. ✨
Hi, I’m Chelsea, the book-loving midwife behind the instagram account @bookishmidwifec — and now this little corner of the net.
I created this blog as a slower, cozier extension of my Bookstagram: a place where I can linger over the stories that move me, unpack what I’m reading, and write with more depth than an Instagram caption allows. Reading has always been my anchor, my soft spot to land, and lately I’ve felt a growing pull to turn my love of stories into something of my own.

Part of why this blog exists is to help me build that habit — the discipline and joy of showing up to the page regularly.
Because one day, quietly but with sincerity, I hope to write a novel of my own. This space is a step toward that dream: a place to practice, to stretch, to explore my voice.
As a midwife, my days (and nights) are woven with emotion, vulnerability, strength, and transformation. Books help me process the world I witness. Writing helps me make meaning out of it. And sharing those reflections connects me to others who find comfort, joy, or companionship in stories too.
Here on Bookish Midwife Musings, you’ll find:
✨ Reflective book reviews
✨ Thoughts on reading in the middle of a busy, caregiving life
✨ Midlife musings
✨ Seasonal TBRs, wrap-ups, and bookish wanderings
✨ Personal essays and the beginning of my writing journey
If you’ve followed me over from Instagram or you’ve simply wandered in by chance, welcome. I hope this space feels warm, genuine, and inviting — like settling into a cozy corner with a cup of something warm and a stack of books waiting their turn.
I’m grateful you’re here. Here’s to reading, writing, reflecting — and seeing where this journey leads.
